Trekking across the land of the elks and reindeers

Requirements:

All participants need a bit of staying power, but no previous knowledge or experiences.
You will get a list of the personal equipment you need with the booking confirmation.

Because we are several days on the way from everyone will be expected to support the team at the daily work. We work together as a team.

We offer the following tour as a 5 day-trekking, too. In this case the whole trip lasts 9 days.

Summer tour 1

Our trekking tours in summer and fall 2010

We offer various trekking and hiking tours across the solitary landscapes of Lapland. Starting point of every tour is our camp Mjövattnet.
We will meet you at the airport and spend the first night there. Next day we will talk about our equipment and go by car to the trekking area.
And than, the adventure begins.

One of our tours we gave the name “Trekking across the land of the elks and reindeers”.

It brings us through dense birch woods and enormous uplands. We pass great lakes and unspoilt waterfalls and rapids. Certainly we will be lucky to watch some mighty elks and eagles, therefore this area is famous.

Starting point of this tour is the small village Ammarnäs, where we can experience a lot of the old traditions of the Samish people.

This tour will be offered as a 5- or 10-days trekking tour (without arrival and
departure days).

Our next tour is a real challenge. It starts to “Discover Europe´s last wilderness”. This is the land of bear, wolf, lynx and wolverine, the “Big Four”. It is the land of loneliness and silence. Today a nationalpark, but since prehistoric times the pasture land of the reindeers and the samish people. During the next 8-10 days we conquer the heart of the park. Perhaps we can watch one of the “Big Four”. But certainly we will see enourmos glaciers and mountain ranges.

In this landscape there are no touristic facilities. Everything we need we carry in our backpacks.
